About Our Company

Harwell Funderburk Design is a web design and network consulting company based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Our services are two-fold: we offer web design services for small to medium businesses, and network design for small to large networks.

Our Design philosophy is simple. We create websites that are Crisp, Brand-Enforcing, Intuitive and Fast.

Crisp?
The foundation of any good design is simplicity. When design incorporates unnecessary features, the thought behind the design is interrupted, muddled and confused. We incorporate only elements which are functional and practical into our designs, therefore keeping them simple and approachable.

Brand-Enforcing?
Brand enforcement is an important, yet often over-looked, part of a website. Whether it is a company's or an individual's, a site should feel as distinct as the person/company that it represents. We strive to give each site a distinct personality that visitors will recognize and remember.

Intuitive?
There's nothing more frustrating than a website that you have to try to "figure out." Our designs all begin with a very simple, navigation-based template that becomes the foundation for the rest of the entire site. The approach we take to navigation is simple: users should move instinctively through the site, even if they are novice web-users. The easier a design is to follow, the more naturally a user will become immersed in the product we are trying to promote.

Fast?
Fast means just that; web pages that no one has to wait on. No matter how much we look forward to the future, the fact is that the majority of web-users are connecting to our information through old technology, i.e. dial-up connections. As long as this is the case, it is important that our websites be written smart and efficient so that no one has to wait to hear what you have to say.

Charles Lu, Databases

Charles has been in the database development game since 1986. After working 13 years in Silicon Valley, Charles decided that he would lead a simpler life in the high-deserts of northern New Mexico. Charles handles all database systmes for HFD.

Xienjang Wang, Network Security

Xienjang is from mainland China where she recieved her formal education at Peking University. She has worked in the computer security field for 16 years and has been. She is in Santa Fe to participate in one of the local non-profits and she handles network security for all of our clients.

Max Funderburk, Web Development/Design

Max has been developing for the web since the mid 1990s. He attended the University of Texas in Austin where he studied computer science. Now he is responsible for designing and engineering web-based tools for all of our clients.
